The Details

For those of you who are interested in joining the Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures League, you may be wondering how the league will work. For that reason I'm going to offer some details as to how game play will be organized.

First off, League games will be played with Sealed Tournament rules. This means that each player will start with two boosters and build their warbands from those boosters. Unlike constructed play, warbands may be made up of any combination of creatures regardless of faction or alignment. Your warbands still need to be 200 points and under.

Other rules that apply can be found in the Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures DCI Floor Rules. If you've never read them or played in a DCI event, you should really check them out before the league begins.

As for prizes and give aways, I will be consulting with the management of Comic Store West once the retailer kit to see what's in the offering.

Its now official. The Dungeon & Dragons Miniatures League is a go. Starting June 1st, and then on every 1st Thursday of the month after that, league play will be held at Comic Store West in York. You'll find the store at 2111 Industrial Highway, York, Pa 17402. You can reach them by phone at (717) 845-9198. View map.

League play will consist of booster draft games. Players will start with two sealed boosters, Dungeons of Dread in June, and starting as early as July 1st Dungeons of Dread and one Against the Giants booster. (Dependent on release date). Game play will follow the Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures Floor Rules which you can download here. It is strongly suggested that if you haven't read the floor rules before, you do so now. In addition, the games will follow the revised rules. Remember, that in sealed pack games, normal faction rules do not apply and you can use any creatures from your booster in your warband regardless of faction and alignement.

We're very fortunate to have the support of the staff at Comic Store West. They've already ordered the retailer kits and that means cool givaways and prizes. Besides the support, Comic Store West has graciously provided the space needed for leagu play. Don't forget to check them out online.
